Discipline Philosophy

Today’s children are going to be tomorrow’s leaders!  In my opinion it is the goal of a teacher to prepare students for their future in the adult world.  In this preparation, it is my belief to treat students with the respect and courtesy they deserve as young learners.  Keeping the consistent respect, positive manner, and politeness toward students, enables the learners to be much more receptive because they already know the expectations.  This approach therefore models appropriate behavior for the student which gives them the tools and responsibility to portray the same respectable behavior.  Along with this common courtesy, I feel it is important to give students the chance to have responsibilities.  With this approach, individuals will then have the advantage to handle the disciplines that go along with responsibilities.  The students will then rise to the occasion so to speak.  With this approach and discipline consistency, it will give students more accountable measures, thus expecting nothing less than appropriate behavior.  Using this philosophy, I plan to work with students together as a team through our goals.  It is my own consistent behavior, confidence, and understanding that will make students successful well mannered leaders in their upcoming adult world.
